Green Tea

Green, black, and oolong teas come from the same plant, Camellia sinensis. Green tea consumption has been shown to have the most significant positive effects on human health (Chacko et al., 2010).

 

The teas derived from this plant are prepared using different methods. To produce green tea leaves from the plant are steamed, pan-fried, and dried. Green Tea has been used medicinally in China and Japan for thousands of years (Green Tea, n.d., 2020)

Green tea has been shown to have health benefits for various ailments, including cancer, heart disease, and liver disease. Additionally, Studies have shown that Green tea may treat metabolic syndrome, including obesity, type II diabetes, and cardiovascular risk factors (Chacko et al., 2010).
